A silhouette would make such a classy gift for a young woman entering Beehives or a young child being baptized. It looks fairly simple once you have a good profile photo of the person. Learn how to create this beautiful silhouette.

Have you ever done a craft like this? How did it turn out?

I am lagging a little behind in posting recently and I apologize.  I just came across this idea today on the Crafty Crow and thought, “Oh!  Perfect for nursery!” so now I’m passing the idea on to you.  I think I might try this with my three year old later this week.  It’s a very easy, fun craft to celebrate the Fourth of July.  It would also be a fun way to decorate a package being sent off to a missionary around this time.  Click here to see the tutorial!

Oh, and I noticed she used Leelou Blogs for her blog design.  We have featured them and their FREE LDS links here!

I have always loved this hymn. Thanks to Mormon Soprano for featuring this video on your blog so I could find it.

Shirt and Tie Cake

June 27, 2009 · 0 comments

I am back from my vacation and have to apologize. I thought I had posted yesterday, but apparently I did not. This is what I meant to blog about…isn’t this a neat idea for a missionary farewell or welcome home? This shirt and tie cake could also be used for Father’s Day or at a mission reunion.

I originally saw this idea on Edible Crafts.

What other occasions could you use this cake for?

Fun Packaging Tape

June 22, 2009 · 0 comments

Are you kidding me?!

That was my first thought when I saw the photo of Lace Tape. I LOVE that idea. I have never seen anything like it before and I just think it looks so cool! I originally saw it on giverslog.com, but I then started following links and came across these others tapes. Can you imagine the smiles you’d get if you sealed up some care packages or gifts with some of these tapes?

Have you ever sent a care package with such cool tape? What was on it?

Small Cakes

June 19, 2009 · 0 comments

I love the idea of giving a small cake on one’s birthday, as a quick pick-me-up gift or serving it at a wedding, graduation, etc. If you feel the same, you will love Giver’s Log’s awesome tutorial on how to frost a cake without leaving crumbs. I am going to have to try some of these tricks.

You know much I like the idea of giving coupon books as gifts. (See previous posts here and here.) The woman behind the huge blog hit TipJunkie has created a Father’s Day Coupon Book via her other site, Executive Homemaker.

If you haven’t visited TipJunkie before, check out her post on even more Father’s Day crafty gift ideas. You’re in for a treat.

Flower Cone

June 17, 2009 · 0 comments

Wouldn’t this make the sweetest surprise for someone you visit teach or a neighbor or a friend? Oh, it looks so pretty and it looks really easy. All you need it paper, hole punch, ribbon, pencil and some glue. If you didn’t want to fill it with flowers, you could always fill it with candy. Visit Martha Stewart for the flower cone tutorial.
